What is a Vinted shadowban?
The shadowban (or "silent ban") is a soft moderation measure where Vinted drastically reduces your account's visibility without telling you. Your listings are still there, your account works, but they no longer show up in other users' searches. You become invisible, with no notification, no warning, no appeal possible.
Vinted doesn't officially acknowledge the practice. But community observations since 2021 are consistent: the shadowban exists, it typically lasts 7 to 14 days, and it's used to cool down accounts that exceed certain thresholds.
The 7 signs of a Vinted shadowban
1. Sudden drop in views (-70 to -90%)
The cardinal symptom. From one day to the next, your views go from 200/day to 20/day. No gradual trend, just a clean drop.
2. Zero new favorites for 48h+
If you normally get 5-10 favorites/day and it falls to 0 for 2 consecutive days, that's a strong signal.
3. Relisting has no effect
Normally, relisting an item boosts its views in the next 24h. With a shadowban, relisting changes nothing. It's the most diagnostic test.
4. Your item doesn't show up in private browsing
Test: log out of Vinted, open a private window, search the exact title of one of your items. If you can't find it where it should be, it's confirmed.
5. Silent notifications
No more "Someone liked your item" notifications for several days. Your account still works for you (you can post, message), but other users no longer see you.
6. Drastic drop in messages
Fewer buyers contact you. The messages you receive are only from your existing conversations, no new contacts.
7. Your items no longer appear in others' "favorites"
If someone had favorited an item, they normally see it in their list. In a severe shadowban, some items even disappear from that list for the duration of the ban.
The main causes of a Vinted shadowban
- Overly aggressive relisting cadence: more than 50 relists/day, or a burst of 30+ in under 10 minutes.
- Obvious bot behavior: regular timings down to the second, 24/7 activity with no human pauses.
- Brutal mass-following: 200+ follows/day, especially if not followed by gradual unfollows.
- Multiple reports: if several users have reported your listings or behavior (spam, abusive prices, misleading descriptions).
- Multi-accounts with the same IP/device: see our multi-accounts guide.
- Abnormal volumes of offers or outgoing messages.
How to verify you're shadowbanned (5-minute procedure)
- Note your current views on 3 popular items
- Relist these 3 items now
- Wait 24h
- If views haven't gone up by 30%+ → strong presumption of shadowban
- Confirmation: private browsing, search the exact title of one of your items. Not in results = confirmed.
How to get out of a shadowban
A shadowban typically lasts 7 to 14 days. The only way out: immediately stop all automated behavior. No half-measures.
- Days 1 to 7: zero automated relisting. No follows. No mass actions.
- Days 8 to 14: resume gradually. One manual relist per day, max. No active extension.
- Day 15+: if your views have returned, you're out. Resume automated activity but with cadences half as aggressive as before.
Do not contact Vinted support in "I've been shadowbanned, unblock me" mode. They don't acknowledge the practice and it could draw unfavorable attention to your account.
How to avoid a shadowban going forward
- Relisting cadence: 5-15 minutes between each, max 50/day
- Pauses at night (midnight-7am) — humans sleep
- Random jitter: never act on fixed intervals
- Scheduled auto mode with moderate quotas rather than bursts
- Don't mass-follow more than 30 people/day
An extension that protects you from shadowbans
Redrip is calibrated by default with safe cadences. Automatic jitter, schedulable pauses, daily cap. The goal: that you never think about these problems because they don't come up.

How long does a Vinted shadowban last?
Typically 7 to 14 days. Extreme cases (repeat offenders, major abuse) can last 30 days. Beyond that, it's usually a permanent suspension.
Does Vinted warn before a shadowban?
No, never. It's silent by definition. The only "warning" is the sudden drop in views — by the time you notice, you're already in it.
Can you be shadowbanned without automating?
Yes, but it's rare. The other causes are multiple reports, manual mass-following, or behaviors deemed aggressive (excessive offers, mass messaging).
