The typical problem

Your Vinted sales are confirmed (the buyer received the parcel, the transaction is validated) but the balance isn't landing on your IBAN. Balance stuck in your "Vinted wallet". Frustrating.

Possible causes

1. Bank account not validated

Vinted requires a validated IBAN before it can transfer. Check: Settings → Bank details → IBAN visible.

If the IBAN is missing or pending validation → add it or wait 2-5 business days.

2. Identity not verified (KYC)

Above certain thresholds (€2,000 cumulative), Vinted asks for ID for anti-money-laundering compliance.

Check: Settings → Identity verification. If a request is pending → upload your ID/passport.

3. Missing tax info (DAC7)

Since 2024, Vinted blocks payouts if you haven't confirmed your tax information beyond the DAC7 thresholds (€3,000 or 30 transactions/year).

Check: Settings → Tax info. Fill it in if requested. See our DAC7 guide.

4. Open dispute

If a buyer has opened a dispute on one of your sales, Vinted freezes the balance until it's resolved.

Check: "Disputes" tab. Respond to support messages within 24-48h.

5. Suspended account

If Vinted suspects fraud/terms violation, your account can be suspended with a frozen balance.

6. Monthly cap reached

Vinted limits monthly transfers (typically €1,000-€2,000). Above that, your balance carries over to the next month.

Check: Settings → Limits.

7. Vinted technical bug

Rarer but it happens. Check Vinted status (downdetector) or Vinted Discord groups.

How to resolve it

Step 1: check your settings

Go verify IBAN, identity, tax info, disputes. 80% of cases resolve here.

Step 2: contact Vinted support

Help → Contact support. Mention precisely:

– Date of the last confirmed sale
– Amount pending in the wallet
– Steps already taken

Response time: 3-7 business days on average. Faster via Twitter @Vinted (DM).

Step 3: mediation escalation

If no Vinted response after 14 days:

– Consumer mediator (free)
– Report to consumer protection authority (DGCCRF in France)
– CNIL complaint if data is mishandled

Step 4: legal recourse

For amounts > €1,000: small claims court. Vinted Pro (so you're B2C with them) = consumer relationship, case law in your favor.

How long can Vinted hold your money

Legally, Vinted cannot block your balance indefinitely without cause. Reasonable timelines:

– KYC in progress: 5-10 business days
– Dispute: duration of resolution (max 30 days)
– Account suspension: 14-30 days for final decision
– Beyond that: legal recourse possible

Prevention

1. Validate your IBAN as soon as you create the account
2. Fill in your tax info before approaching DAC7 thresholds
3. Keep your shipping proof (tracking numbers)
4. Check your Vinted emails daily
