How much Vinted takes exactly

Buyer Protection Fees (BPF) are paid by the buyer, not by you. But they Boost the total price paid, which affects your conversion rate.

2026 formula: €0.70 fixed + 5% of the item price. Legal cap of €9.90 in France.

Example: €20 item → BPF = 0.70 + 1.00 = €1.70. The buyer pays €21.70 excluding shipping.

Rates by country

FR: €0.70 + 5%. DE: €0.70 + 5%. IT: €0.70 + 5%. ES: €0.70 + 5%. UK: £0.70 + 5%. PL: 2.49 zł + 5%.

Fees vary by national Vinted market. If you sell to a foreign buyer, the buyer's country BPF applies.

How it affects your sales

The more expensive the item, the lower the BPF as a percentage. €5 item → BPF ~19% of the price. €100 item → BPF ~5.7%. €200 item → BPF ~5%.

Consequence: buyers are more sensitive to BPF on small items. Selling sub-€10 = looks expensive once BPF is added.

Pricing strategy

Bundle to dilute the BPF

The buyer pays a single BPF for the entire bundle, not per item. Selling 3 items at €5 each via a bundle = 1 BPF instead of 3. Buyer savings = a sales argument.

Psychological rounding

Price €19.99 with BPF €1.70 = €21.69. Ugly. Prefer €18 → €19.60. Cleaner.

Avoid sub-€5

Proportionally huge BPF. Bundle rather than selling individually or raise the price to €7-8.

Vinted Pro and BPF

For Vinted Pro accounts (registered self-employed), the BPF is still paid by the buyer, but the Vinted commission is added (paid by seller, ~5-10% depending on the category).

Common mistakes

Thinking you pay the BPF: no, the buyer does. Vinted pays you the full item price.

Thinking you can work around it via direct payment: forbidden + loss of seller protection + near-certain ban. See Vinted scams.

Over-lowering your prices to "compensate" for the BPF: you crush your margin without benefit — the buyer pays the BPF either way.
